I%26#039;m 23 years old and have moderate acne (few pimples, but they are big) and I have tried Proactive and other over the counter topical medications, but my skin is NEVER perfectly clear, (not even close actually). I am wondering the best treatment is if cost doesn%26#039;t matter. Is the blue light therapy good? Facials? Pills? Diet?
Please don%26#039;t tell me to see a dermatologist because I already know I probably should but I want advice first.
I really want smooth skin more than anything! Please help!|||Just to let you know we all realize Brian is not to be believed. Try not to let it bother you. I would set my Q%26amp;A back to private, who cares what he thinks.
Read some of his answers. He is the one trying to scam people. He says he belongs to an online money making club and that you have to pay using a credit card or paypal.
Maybe you should try a good Retinoid product, prescription strength. Something like Tazorac or Retin-A Micro. Not all insurance covers them. It usually cost $100.00 a tube, (cheaper in Canada) with my insurance I was able to get it for $40.00. It lasts for a very long time. There is no need to spend lot%26#039;s of money on makeup, or skin cleanser. Use oil free makeup and a fragrance free cleanser and moisturizer. Something like fragrance free Liquid Neutrogena facial cleansing formula, and Olay complete moisture lotion w/ spf for sensitive skin.
I%26#039;m not very fond of dermatologist, but it wouldnt hurt to check one out when your ready. I would recommend going to a Laser skin care center if cost is not an issue. They seem to have all the latest and greatest Lasers. Again check out a few places, they should have free consultations and pick the place you feel most comfortable with. It%26#039;s great to compare what different doctors say, then do a little reaserch on the internet.
I had a friend years ago who had severe acne and she took pills. It was amazing how perfect her skin ended up being. I don%26#039;t know if thats something a doctor would suggest for moderate acne.
Good luck!|||Take a shower|||I know you said %26quot;don%26#039;t tell me to see a dermatologist%26quot; but I%26#039;m afraid that that IS the best advice- the problem is that in order to treat acne, you need to know the cause- in other words, is your problem hormonal, diet related, or is there another cause.
I have acne caused by hormonal fluctuations, so I was put on the pill. This helped clear my acne up like magic. However, if your acne is caused because of bad diet, then it won%26#039;t help you. So you need to figure out WHY you have acne before you can treat it. Nonetheless, here are some good tips for anyone wanting to improve the general health of their skin:
* Drink lots of water - at least 8 glasses a day
* DO NOT eat a lot of sugar and cut out soft drinks- soft drinks are the DEVIL
* Get enough sleep - most people need 8 hours a night
* Wash your face twice a day and moisturise. A lot of people with oily or problem skin make the mistake of not moisturising- this can make your skin react by producing excess oils to compensate for dry skin and, ironically, can make your skin oily.
* Take a good mutlivitamin and a vitamin C supplement - vitamin C flushes the body of toxins
* Eat a lot of fresh fruit and veg
* Do not touch your skin - during the day you touch a lot of stuff and fiddling with and touching your skin can spread germs to it, resulting in pimples and irritation|||The person posting the question is a scammer. It looks like they are part of an affiliate program that sells these types of creams and they most likely have another username that they will come in and post an answer to.
Most likely this person will be a top contributor. They use yahoo answers as a business. They try to make money off of people%26#039;s misery. These people should rot in hell. There is a program out there that teaches how to come into yahoo answers and build a reputation to make money of off affiliate products.
It says to post 10 non link questions and then then 11th one you post a link to the product. When you go to the site and order the product you usually have to give an affiliate code that makes that person money.
dcdcdc is the yahoo answers scammer. She has over 2000 answers. And the jerk who wrote the question is the scammer. Beware these losers. They need to rot in hell.
What I see happening here is the same person who posted this question is a top contributor in another username and will post an answer. Beware of the top contributors. Like I said they use yahoo answers as a business to make money off of people%26#039;s misery. Top contributors usually have answered hundreds or thousands of questions in a short period of time.
Do you really think someone wants to be THAT helpful and is that knowledgeable about all this crap. NO. They also will have they questions and answers set to private. Beware of these losers. They%26#039;ll make up questions just to post answers to build their reputations and to eventually put links up to get your money.
